Lanarkshire Services - Volunteer Coordinator
Contract: 17.5 hours per week
Make a real difference: help us to make sure no one goes through dementia on their own.Alzheimer Scotland recognises the vital contribution that volunteers make to the delivery of the services we provide to people living with dementia; and the importance of planning ongoing volunteer management.
We currently have a Volunteer Coordinator vacancy within the Lanarkshire team, based at Motherwell. Lanarkshire Resource Centre is also going through a period of development with exciting new groups requiring volunteers to drive new ideas forward. The Volunteer Co-ordinator role is central to the success in delivering these services, in developing, planning and implementing an effective volunteer network, and for recruiting, placing and retaining the volunteers needed to support the delivery of these projects. This is an exciting role and requires a degree of flexibility and an ability to work on own initiative.
Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and the ability to plan, organise and delegate. A willingness to learn and participate in training is essential. Experience of working with volunteers and people living with dementia is required.
